Fire Dragon

I am searching for a good description of the first chakra to elaborate on the Red Aura post. The first chakra is also called base, root, or Muladhara. The dominance of this chakra in my system accounts for issues I have had with Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Ulcerative Colitis. Anyway, I can't resist posting a link to the root chakra page on this questionable Swedish site (fire dragon that I am). I just find it amusing!

Root chakra stuff is tough.

In my life I see it as a life long task to sift through what is and isn't authentic to who we are.

We are born into tribal identification, but those ties [that bind] are not always a good fit. Issues stir to remind us to separate from what binds us, and what we are *feeding* ourselves.

You know...what junk are we swallowing? Someone else's beliefs? Expectations of us? What they might need us to be?

Ack! ;-)

{hugs}

BeanMa - don't make me dig out the picture of me hugging a California redwood in 1991! I'm afraid the job of plant-caretaker is already filled at my house (wouldn't dream of replacing him!).

Karina - You nailed it! One gets so preoccupied with meeting these perceived expectations it feels impractical to just be oneself. How do you balance it all?
